Question: My worcester combi boiler has suddenly gone off.?

I pressed the reset button for two seconds as per instruction book and it started working, then after two or three seconds it stopped again. This happened three times. As a complete ignoramous with all things gas is there anything else I can try before calling the gasman in to fix it? I've just paid a chunk of gas bill so I can manage without another bill so soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. the blue light is still working.

I agree with both answers really ...thermal coupler is the doobry what lets the gas come through only when pilot heats it ...so if its knackered it wont let gas through.... I had a contact with my W boiler and it paid every time ...regular service and clean out was about £100 per year and covered all other bits...I may be out of date a bit as 7 years in Spain with no central heating ....good luck

Could be your pump. They have a button with a red light on the front, try pushing that then reset. In my experience, an annual contract with a Worcester boiler over 8 years old will save you a LOT of money. Ours has been a nightmare.

A model of this boiler would help as very few of them actually have a thermocouple these days and I am pretty sure the one with the blue light does not. Check the water pressure on the gauge/ display, it should be 1 bar. Without a model otherwise its all guesswork.
